Phlegmatics were actually named this because of the word their label is made up of…phlegm…slow moving, sluggish, thick.
By definition, these people seem deliberate and stubborn. They are resistant to using their energy or their talents, so they usually live quiet, calm lives as much as they possibly can.

Phlegs prefer to sleep late into the afternoon, work alone and keep to themselves. Sleep is the only thing that can really energize this temperament, and often, even sleep doesn’t work, as they have very limited energy.
In business, a Phlegmatic personality is great at work that requires a lot of attention to detail. They should be placed in a position of data processor, accountant, web designer or computer programmer.
Generally, this person enjoys observing the relationships of others, feeling that they know what everyone else is doing in the relationship, and whether it’s right or not.
Phlegmatics tend to work in a quiet, efficient manner, meaning they generally are very balanced with their time when they are utilizing it to do their job.
As people, they want close relationships with a few, have a need to be liked and get along wtih others much more than anything else. They are sensitive and compassionate, and hate conflict or competition.
The look for authenticity and meaning in relationships and are nurturing and empathic toward others.
In your network marketing company, these folks are wonderful at encouraging others, promoting growth and wonderful at spurring personal development in your team and downline.
The one thing to remember when a person with this type of temperament joins your business venture, is that they will move at their own pace. If forced to take action, they will stubbornly sit there and do NOTHING.

a melancholy person can be an asset and yet a liability at the same time.

Can someone who is melancholy really make it in MLM? Let’s discuss the melancholy definition to determine the answer to that.
First of all, I want to give credit to a very dear associate of mine, who happens to be a melancholy phlegmatic personality, and therefore was invaluable in the insights I’m about to share with you. My comrade, herself, is a brilliant writer, dancer and banner maker, who has no interest in MLM at all.
Now, to explore our question…when it comes to the multi-level marketing team, a melancholy person can be an asset and yet a liability at the same time. By nature, these types of people, will bend over backwards to try to please the head mentor, while at the same time, feeling very overwhelmed and downtrodden, even resentful at the person they are assisting.
You see, this creative personality, is not very people-oriented and tends to be overly sensitive to even the most fair of critiques by her manager. If the boss says she messed up, she can become very distraught and depressed for long periods of time, not wanting to even try anymore at the business. This can result in the business slowing down or sometimes, the melancholy will even lose her job.
She is so focused on earning peoples’ approval, that she will often deliberate too long about projects and tasks, resulting in over-tiredness and “messups” in her position in the company. She’d much rather analyze things than actually put them into action, so she will often delegate the more challenging jobs to the “go-getters” in the group.
If a new associate comes into the company, this “melancholy princess“, who feels she has obvious seniority, may be overly cautious and unlikely to greet the newcomer for a while, until she is sure that the newbie meets her specifications.
You could call this somewhat “moody” person, a “suspicious observer.”
These were the drawbacks of the melancholy personality, but there are some definite benefits of having this person join your team too, provided they felt like it was worth their while to team up with you in the first place.
Melancholies work well with charts, graphs, and schedules. They will work overtime, complete what they start, are neat and tidy, and if they see problems they will find creative solutions to them. They are great with budgeting and economics.
Your business, should you have this temperament in it, will be run with a fine-toothed comb in the most creative ways imaginable. This incredible person is usually into anything that takes some deep thought; she brings an attitude of “poetry” and “delight” into your office and business, making each day full of new, interesting information and extroardinary innovation!
Melancholies can mix well with MLM, as long as you place them in charge of the secretarial tasks and in the position of administrator. Just be sure that your Mel workers really want to be part of your company, because if it wasn’t their idea to join you, they will become fast enemies. If they explored the company, asked tons of questions and finally settled with the fact that it was “for them,” you have a friend and business partner for life!

The Choleric personality type is very “driven” and “domineering.” You will know you are in the presence of this type of person, by the fact that you will feel almost “commanded” into action of some kind around them. They are very apt to delegate duties that they do not want to bother with, and they will stay “on” their employees and associates until they are satisfied with their progress.
The choler has a compulsive need for change and tend to want to “fix” anyone or anything that doesn’t meet their approval or does not seem “right” to them. They are very decisive and will even turn off their emotions when they are called upon to act rationally during a crisis.
This type of person is the top “cookie” in businesses. They thrive on opposition and, as annoying as they can be in their statements, tend to come out being “correct” almost every time. They accomplish their goals, display confidence, are determined to achieve, and very hard to discourage. Where the Sanguines are “born salespeople,” these folks are “born leaders.”
By definition, these people are known to be rather fussy and ”set in their ways.” They can be seen in roles such as CEO, president, guru, leader, and “head-honcho” of the planet. Extremely “sure” of themselves, they generally prefer their own thoughts, ideas and opinions over pretty much anyone else’s, which can lead to a listener, feeling “talked down to” or “looked down upon” by them.
When speaking with prospects, a Choleric uses the “pitchy” mode most of the time…telling these “sales victims” that they MUST check out this newest product or business, or they will be sorry they didn’t. They will go into the information about the compensation plan and tell their prospect that they can make “millions” and be their own boss, have the control, manage other people…all “power promises” this temperamented person will use. You will rarely find this type of business leader taking “no” for answer from anyone.
Keirsey and even Myer-Briggs refers to a choleric as being a rationalist that wants to be consistently viewed as competent and even ingenious. Chols often can become very angry if others do not comply with what they want.
My suggestion is, if you have a Choleric person on your team, listen carefully to what they say, allow them to run their own business as much as possible, but do not place others non-Cholerics with them, unless those associates have a mix of both Choleric and other strong, positive traits that will hold their self-esteem in tact, as well as allow them to stand their ground with the feisty Choleric businessman or woman.
To give a better example of this personality type, some familiar people who are strong in this trait are: Jim Jones, Bill Gates, Alfred Hitchcock, Betty Davis, and Barbara Walters.

The Sanguine temperament (also spelled Sanguin) is, by nature, very friendly and outgoing. These types of people are known to be “born for” sales. Never having met a stranger, means they are lacking in timidity or self-consciouness; therefore, these folks will pretty much say anything to anybody, throwing caution to the wind.
If you have ever met a Sanguine type of salesperson, you will know him or her, by the fact that they are just chock-full of information, and will rarely take a breath in between sentences.
On a diagnostic chart, these rather flamboyant creatures, are known as “class clowns,” “jokers,” and “dare-devils.” They will take the somewhat foolish risks and chances that the other personalities would never dream of even thinking about.
Many people realize that the Sanguines are the ones who will totally step out of the comfort-zone to try and sell the “lady in the red hat” the latest brand of fish oil, but what some might not realize, is the reason why a Melancholy will NOT be as likely to act in that manner.
I did a bit of keirsey studying in College, that examined more of the diagnostic traits, and I will venture to say that, for a Melancholy, one of the biggest needs, even as a business person, is for familiarity and a reliable, predictable schedule of some kind. The Melancholy sort will not meander up to a stranger, simply because she/he does not know them. She/he will also not start spouting off about a product they offer, because they are not sure how the listener will respond to them. One of their main fears is, being rejected, so a direct sales approach is not the favored or comfortable way for the Melancholy temperament at all.
My suggestion, if you have a Melancholy woman or man on your team, your best bet is to let them be in charge of keeping all the files in order. They are great organizers to boot, as they lean very strongly toward perfectionism. Do not thrust them into the world of the “unknown” or you will have a really quick drop-out rate among them in your business. Let them also do the research that you need done. They will keep very accurate charts and graphs and will make sure every “i” is dotted and every “t” is crossed on any documents you have them work on.
For the Sanguines, give them a script and a phone or lend them the company car with a sales pitch attached to the visor, and let them go at it! They will astound you with how many people they can talk to. The only thing is, since these types are always talking and making friends, they are not very good closers. Send Mr or Mrs Choleric along with them to do the job of getting people to “sign on the dotted line.”
Put your individual temperaments in the right places and you will soon have a business that ROCKS!

Have you ever considered that your motivation for doing things, such as losing weight, often depends on who is watching you?
I’ve been pondering this for some time now, and it finally led me to my latest internet endeavor.
As I was thinking about how much my accomplishments are linked to other people’s support of me, my brain gears began turning round and round, till I finally came up with an idea.
I need to lose body weight desperately. I have tried almost any of the main fads, pills, shakes, and promises. I’ve worn out my dvd player on exercise programs. You know as well as I do, there are really very few actual methods of weight control that will yield favorable results. Basically, our calorie intake cannot exceed our calorie burn. Many people need a support group if they are to actually stick WITH their plan. I’m one of those people.
I did very well with weekly meetings and even forum groups, but once I stopped attending, the fat came right back on. This goes to show that, for me, “accountability= consistency.” I am a person that needs to know “someone’s watchin”
and/or “someone cares” as much as I do.
This discovery has led me to my decision to “go public” with my “Thin-Gain” weight loss plan. I will be filming my progress bi-weekly for all the Youtube world to see. With all these people gawking at me, forming opinions, etc, I KNOW I will follow through to my ultimate goal of going from 184 lbs to 134 lbs. I have a lot of confidence that this is the way to go!
Now, I’d like for any of my usual blog-readers and followers, to go visit my Youtube videos for “Thin-Gain” and leave me some comments of encouragement, suggestions, etc. People who can’t lose weight are welcome to comment as well.
Root me on and you’ll see me shrink before your very eyes before we both know it!

As I was waking up this morning, I was pondering about the people on an online business team. I came up with 4 basic types of people that I’ve worked with and coached. I’ll call them the Lazies, Crazies, Hazies, and Daisies. Each term is based on their individual business motivation or lack thereof. Every person has strengths and weaknesses, yet each one is so important to the team.

Lazies would be the “yellow” or phlegmatic types. These people are laid back, easygoing, sometimes slow, but very nurturing and caring. They are great to place with those in your team, who struggle with occasional “low” moments of wanting to give up, stand still, do nothing and lose hope. These yellow folks, are the “Mr Rogers” of business. Put them in charge of people who are great at the behind-the-scenes things, but just are unmotivated as far as face-to-face meetings or anything more confrontive.

Crazies, or blues or sanguines, should be, in my opinion, at the top of the leadership ladder, except for one crucial factor…they tend to be very disorganized, not seeing a reason to have a whole lot of structure in what they do. These people are the entertainers and can provide tremendous business motivation, while sporting a wide grin, a lot of joking and a cheerful image. Place them as far away from the serious business builders as possible. Let these people make the videos, the audios, chat on the phone (DO give them a script to learn though, or they will be making friends and forgetting they are in business to attain financial freedom too). Make business a game for these people, telling them step by step what to do and what the “Fun” reward will be when the task is completed.

Hazies, the green or melancholies, have the most awesome business skills of all! These people are born to organize and file everything in sight! If you are missing a paper, chances are, the hazy person has already found the “perfect” place “out of the way” for that paper. With people, the hazy will want to dig for details and try and figure out exactly what is what, so they can be sure their customer has all the info needed to make a wise, calculated decision. Business motivation for this type of person…well, first they have to be convinced in and of themselves, after much research and pondering, that it’s even anything that they want to attempt. If there is any that even seems amiss, you won’t see them hopping into your team, period. Place these people, if you were fortunate enough to have them with you, in charge of paperwork, bookwork, finances. They will take good care of those things for you!

Now, the Daisy…the reason I called the red or choleric person a daisy, is because they are the “flowers” of the bunch when it comes to leadership in business. These people will lead with an iron fist, much of the time, so keep the gentler folk away from them. The Daisy was created to sell, recruit, convince, connive people into business. They do not tolerate slackers or anything that appears to be a form of “ignorance” in their co-workers. They have no problem telling you exactly what they think about you, your endeavors, your way of running your business. Usually these people are at the top in any business plan and they tend to be in charge wherever they go, simply because leadership comes naturally to them. Place these people out in “the field” recruiting, talking, canvassing the entire area…but send another person with them who can keep them a bit tempered so they don’t crush the potential customer with their confrontive nature. Welcome independent leadership in this person, because they are not real adept at being placed in a position of submission. They need to feel and be in charge.

So there they are…4 types of people I have run across. It’s kind of a joke I have with a friend of mine…I tell her, “I’ve met a lot of people I’d NEVER want to try to initiate teamwork with, so now I know exactly what to look for in those who join me…the opposite of that!

This would launch me into a panic attack and I'd feel like I wanted to just DIE rather than suffer such a thing.

I was talking to a friend of mine today about this new product I am using to help with exercise-induced asthma that I have been suffering. He told me I should get the word out about it, so here goes…

On the first day I used this, within a few minutes, my body began feeling almost electrically-charged in a good way. I suddenly had energy I haven’t had in years! I wasn’t wanting to go on walks with my daughter up to this point, because I’d get halfway to our destination and I’d almost stop breathing. This would launch me into a panic attack and I’d feel like I wanted to just DIE rather than suffer such a thing.

Just to give you some background on this breathing issue…I went in for a sleep apnea test which turned out negative. I then had a breathing test done, which also came out negative. My doctor prescribed inhalers often for chronic bronchial episodes, but nothing ever seems to show up on tests at all. I only know that I was having some really bad problems with my breathing that nothing seemed to help. Talk about stress! My adrenals were being over-taxed which caused my blood pressure to elevate and my thyroid to have some problems too. Not good at all!

After I popped a few capsules of this stuff into my mouth, and then began experiencing renewed vigor, I decided to venture out on a walk one day. I felt so good, I just had to know if maybe something was different in my body and especially my lungs. My daughter and I went to the store up the road, to buy some household items. To my utter amazement, I was able to breathe free, not only on the way there, but all the way back as well, with no problem.

I also heard about people with such things as Lupus, Fibromyalgia, immune sorders, AIDS and even cancer, experiencing great relief from this supplement. I just had to tell everyone I know, because I realize I’m not the only one looking for answers to stop the pain and suffering!

So, if you are in search of some new body energy or want to see what this can do for your health issues, you’ll want to check out this info: www.twitter.com

There are people that, no matter how much you tell them that they can succeed, will argue for the right to remain "stuck."

I read something today that really bugged me. It was written by a person who is doing rather well in business, but seems to have some ideas that do not line up with my beliefs at all. You see, I follow Jesus, in all that I do, even business.

Now, this person does explain that a desire to achieve wealth and success enables a person to have financial freedom to help others. I am all for that part. My desire is to be able to help people see their dreams come true, however I also believe that the truest riches are not going to be found on this planet either!

I understand that this person would be legitimately upset about those human beings that could be getting out of their doldrums and situations of being poor…even bargain shopping, simply by having a will to improve their lives and acting upon things in a wise manner. That bugs me too, when people make excuses for not doing something positive with their lives in order to promote growth and change.

There are people that, no matter how much you tell them that they can succeed, will argue for the right to remain “stuck.” That can get me “ticked off” faster than almost anything. I just want to SHAKE them sometimes!

I just do not agree that the rich people need to build a wall around themselves to avoid poor ones. They do not need to avoid middle-class outlet shopping, or discount places, because they are concerned that the “poverty” mindsets might get on them. They do not need to limit themselves to only associating with upper-class people 24 hours a day…if they are true followers of Jesus.

Jesus ate with publicans and sinners. He was among the people, not barred up in a separate part of society, in some palace somewhere. For me, seeing myself as “better than” or even “better off than” so and so, smacks of a guy in the Bible who said, “I thank GOD that I’m not like him!” You can read your Bible to find out what God thought about that and how He responded! Not a pretty picture.

What I do agree with, that many network marketers now espouse to, is this:
Someone with a poverty mentality says, “I can’t afford it”.
Someone with an abundance mentality says, “How can I afford it?” (Mike Dillard)

I also agree with not using coupons or getting “coins” back when I shop. I’m cool with all of that. I do see myself as prosperous and doing well…no trouble there either.

What I won’t do, is develop an attitude that I need to separate myself from my friends who are struggling and poor, feeling I can only hang out with the wealthy. I believe there is a time for every purpose. There will be times I’m at the dinners with the rich and famous, and there will be times I’m listening to the hurts of a friend who is down to her last dollar.

All I can say is, Lord, when I do attain the wealth that I believe You have for me, let me not be as the man who looked in the mirror and forgot where I used to be!

I’d LOVE to hear back from anyone who reads this. I feel very strongly about it and welcome your opinions.

If the human body could talk to us, it would be pleading for more of a substance known as Glutothione. This body chemical is responsible for so many things that you may not even be aware of. As you age, it decreases, which accounts for much of the aches and pains we often feel. The truth is, your body’s Glutothione levels decreases 10-15% from age 20 onward. Due to stress, injury, illness and infection, our body organs are more susceptible to disease and disorder.

You may think that antioxidants are enough to get yourself running smoothly, but, although those products are very effective, it’s the glutothione that deals with the actual biproducts of oxidation. Inflammation on a cellular level, is what is responsible for the discomfort you feel in your body parts.

I only found out about this recently, but I had to share it with all of you who might not have heard of it either. I remember when I first was diagnosed Hashimotos. I never had known how much that little thyroid glad actually was responsible for in my body. No wonder I didn’t have the best body I could have. My thyroid glad was literally destroying itself and my adrenal system!

Now that I know about the thyroid, and have been treating my problem so my body does not totally shut down, I feel it’s my responsibility to let you know about the other element that is important for our physical and emotional well-being…Glutothione.

Lacking Glutothione has been pinpointed to being a cause of fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, some cancers, and psychological dysfunction. The answer is there for us, but the troubling fact is, if you try to use supplements to provide the needed chemicals, they will be destroyed in the stomach before they reach any of your cells. What good is a supplement that gets short-circuited before it even works?

If your body could write a wanted ad, I believe it would write a plea for a natural supplement of Glutothione that could be assimilated easily and fully used and distributed into every one of its cells! We really do need to listen better to what our “self” is telling us to do. Glutothione is a “must have” to keep our bodies functioning in tip-top shape and condition.

Have you ever noticed that… when you are doing something new and exciting; something that is very likely to bring your dreams to pass, there are always people there to tell you why it can’t happen for you?

You know that the “naysaying” is going to be inevitable, but what you might not know, is how to handle it when it comes. Cruel animosity comes from those closest to you when you dare to break the “status quo” of what they feel is working for them or the right way of doing things in life, does not result from what you are doing, but from how others are looking at it in comparison to what they do.

First of all, animosity is not the only thing we need to get a definition of. It is one part of the title on this blog, because anger and resentment does fuel the fires in families against their network marketing kin. Besides animosity, we need to get the meaning of why we are so firm in what we do as business people. If we are sure of the “why” then all the contrariness in the world won’t be able to stop us!

So let’s define concretely why we have opted in to an online business, shall we? First of all, there was the promise of seeing our dreams come to pass. This could mean getting financially free, going on vacations regularly, buying a new house, car, boat, etc. Basically, we bought the idea of home-based “anything” because we were dissatisfied with what we were already doing or we wanted something more besides doing that job.

My point is that we need to keep in mind that the reason we are where we are in business, is because of our own desire for a change! We did not decide to sell our products, prospect for business builders, nor invest in money-making devices, because we wanted to somehow make our families feel like they were less than we were! We had no alterior motive but we did indeed have a motive…to finally SUCCEED and BREAK FREE!

When we feel the cruel animosity heading our way, it’s not because we did something against that bitter person. Those attitudes in him/her say more about how they feel inside themselves, than about any choices we will make. We did not tell them how excited we were, so that they could then get angry with us for not wanting to have a boss, a weekly paycheck, and a schedule of getting out of bed to commute in the cold, wind, rain or hail, as they are. We have nothing to feel bad about and we have every right to do what we do, be good at it and make money at it too!

Now, animosity signifies resentment. Since we now recall that we began our business to break free, achieve goals and dreams and be successful, when we see that someone resents that, instead of us trying to assuage those people, we can just realize that they have not yet come to an undertanding of this new, emotionally-healthier way of doing things. Putting yourself in the place of those skeptics, means you can relate to their hesitancy and let them “own” that. Let the person decide to scoff, tell you why it won’t work, attempt to talk you out of it and change your plans, and finally just plain ignore you in the end.

Since you know what’s behind their words and anger…(fear… of being stuck where they are forever) you will just keep doing what you are doing, knowing that you do it because you love it, believe in it, and never want to return to the way things used to be. Success will head your way right on over the heads and past the hips of those people steeped in animosity.
